*Economic Downturn:* Nigeria is currently experiencing one of its worst economic downturns in 27 years. The country’s youth unemployment rate stands at 32.5%, and there has been a surge in insecurity linked to staggering poverty across the country.

*Security Crises:* Nigeria is faced with an unprecedented wave of different but overlapping security crises – from kidnapping to extremist insurgencies. Groups like Boko Haram are exploiting Nigeria’s poverty and other security challenges to fuel their extremist ideologies.

*Food Insecurity:* The cost of food has become a major issue, with many Nigerians struggling to afford even a single meal a day. This is further exacerbated by crises in sectors like poultry.

*Energy Crisis:* Persistent power outages have left the populace in a state of distress.

*Fuel Subsidy Removal* : The removal of fuel subsidy has led to rising petrol prices, adding another layer of strain on the already beleaguered citizens.

*Health Crisis:* Persistent armed conflict in North-Eastern Nigeria is resulting in widespread displacements, leading to poor sanitation, water-borne diseases, and an increased risk of communicable diseases.

*Climate Change:* Disagreements over the use of land and water, as well as grazing routes, have been exacerbated by climate change and the spread of the Sahara Desert.
Addressing these issues requires a comprehensive approach that takes into account the diverse and complex factors affecting the country’s stability.
