Betta Edu is a Nigerian politician who is currently the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. She is also the national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in Nigeria. She was formerly the Commissioner for Health in Cross River State and the National Chairman of the Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum. She is a medical doctor and a public health specialist with degrees from the University of Calabar, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and Texila American University. She was born on October 27, 1986 in Lagos and is married with two children. She is one of the youngest ministerial nominees by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is expected to assign her as the Minister of State for Health1234.
